SNAPSHOTS FROM NYC

I'll let the photos do most of the talking today, because there are A LOT of them. Who reads blogs anymore anyway? Ha! Since it was the guys first time in NYC and they were up for pretty much anything, we hung out in SoHo mostly, where we stayed at Arlo Hotel. We spent two days visiting cute shops and eating/drinking our way around the area. It felt like such a treat to indulge and relax together, while marking off places we all wanted to visit while we were in town. Eating at Jack's Wife Freda, The Dutch, Jeffrey's Grocery, and Joe's Pizza didn't disappoint. Neither did visits to the 9/11 Memorial, the Comedy Cellar, the Little Island, Greenwich Village, The Color Factory, and Tribeca. Life felt pretty normal for the first time in over a year and it was delightfully refreshing! While it was fun to hop around the city sans kids, it made me eager to return again with Max next time. I know he'd be enchanted by all of the sights and sounds.

THE COLOR FACTORY

 

We spent last weekend in New York City with my sister and her boyfriend while my parents graciously watched the kids in Delaware. I'll share snippets from the city in tomorrow's post, but for now it's all about The Color Factory. A visit to this gem—the brain child of Jordan Ferney—has been a long-time coming for yours truly. As dramatic as this sounds, I've wanted to visit the space for years! From the moment we entered, it felt like the closest I'd come to heaven. What's not to love about being welcomed with a glitter toilet seat, confetti strewn all over a white satin floor, and macarons served from a conveyor belt? I literally squealed at the sight of it all and knew that things were only going to get better and brighter as we traveled from room to room. I just didn't realize HOW magical it would feel as you got to interact with each exhibition. I believe color is therapy and a visit here only reinforced that notion for me. For all the unknowns and disappointment I've felt over the past year, this seemed to heal all of it and acted as a salve to my soul. I'm forever grateful for this trip and the ways it made life feel normal again—a future filled with hope and the boldest of hues.

• Yellow Wave Shelf // Eek! I'm so stinking excited to see West Elm carrying goods by Closed Mondays.
• Sasha Handmade // Blair shared this amazing online shop on her Instagram and I had to snag a few bangles.
• Striped Camp Shorts // These remind me of a pair of shorts I bought last year at Madewell and ADORE!! I can't wait to see how they compare. I should also note that I HATE wearing shorts and trying them on, so when I find a pair I like, it's HUGE. For those of you who feel similarly, stay tuned for a final verdict. 
• Fresh and Easy Cookbook // I bought Molly Baz's cookbook because of the design. Same story here.
• Lips iPhone Case // I think we can all agree the Clare V. lip is equal parts iconic and happy. Sign me up. 
• Super Stripe Towel Set // Wow, I want a few sets of these so bad! The stripes. The colors. They scream JOY!
• Raspberry Rose Jelly Donut Ice Cream // I can't wait to make a trip to Jeni's and give this a shot. Yum!
• Scallop Bikini // Let this be the year we aim to feel comfortable and appreciate the body we have right NOW.
• Striped Sandals // I need another pair of sandals like I need a hole in my head, but these ARE pretty cute!
• Printed Paddle Short // Adding these to my cart stat. They're the perfect pair of shorts to play in the water.  
• Green Buena Tote // Lightweight and waterproof, this might be the cutest Summer tote. There's Navy too!
• Havana Sunglasses // Today's post makes it VERY clear we're ready for warmer weather (No humidity—Ha!).
• Striped Side Table // Have you seen a side table quite this perfect?? It can be used indoor or outdoor too!
• Orange Peel Cologne // I'm a Wild Bluebell devotee, but open to trying something extra zesty this Summer.
• Sydney Continental Hat // Surprise, surprise. It's the striped fabric trim for me! Stay cool with built-in SPF.
