LURVE LOAVE LUFF

Let's get right to it, shall we?
Here's what made me feel all twitterpated, smile contagiously, giggle uncontrollably, etc.

  • First and Last by Leah Rosenberg // Beyond smitten with this chartreuse panel featured in her 100 Days of Color series.
  • Gray Landry Pendant // The sweetest stripey little pendant! Accents like this make me giddy about a new space.
  • Whoopsie Cushion // The joke that never gets old is ten times cuter when it becomes a soft baby alpaca pillow.
  • Phillips Cube Table/Wall Lamp // Here's hoping we return from Round Top with something fabulous like THIS!
  • Ruffle-Sleeve T-Shirt in Stripe // Over the course of the past year, J.Crew has perfected this style. Trust me on this one!
  • Logo Totes // When Blair decided to print her pup on a tote recently, it was the SQUEE heard 'round the world!
  • Circle Link Choker Necklace // I'm itching to see some of Madewell's latest jewelry in person. This is one of m' faves!
  • DVF Circle Bag // Maybe the V in DVF should stand for "vibrant" instead of VON because this piece is spectacular!?!
  • Wool Flannel Ruffle Skirt // Liz Adams took pregnancy cuteness to a whole new level when she donned the skirt HERE.
  • Colorful Coats // Even though our Wifi hates Game of Thrones, I'm told "Winter is coming." It's decision-making time.
  • Bejeweled Satin Ballerinas // These cobalt beauties are absolutely DARLING. Send a size 8 to Swell Rio, por favor!
  • Lips Lapel Pin // I can't say I'm ready to kiss the Texas state capital good-bye, but hopefully we can return one day.
  • Cat Sweater // Most of you know that I'm VERY scared of cats, but this adorable sweater *almost* makes me reconsider.
  • A B to Jay Z // Put the "lit" in literary with this hip-hop inspired ABC book. Why didn't I think of that?? This is a NEED.
  • Polka-Dot Scarf // Zara's selection of cold-weather accessories are INSANE! How perfect is this spotted scarf??
  • Balthazar Pillow // It's not officially Friday unless there's a tassel or pom-pom adornment, am I right??
  • Project 62 at Target // I took one look at the collection and thought it was the West Elm catalog. HUBBA! Something tells me that we're going to need to make a pit stop in San Antone so I can lay eyes on all this modern and affordable goodness. I really can't get over some of the furniture. How about this Hafley End Table?? It's less than $80!!
  • Esther Settee // If you ever wondered what it felt like to sit in heaven, look no further than this Jonathan Adler gem.

Happy Friday, m' dears! Make this weekend count.

THURSDAY'S THOUGHTS

VIA

THINKING ABOUT: Over the weekend Max was being Max, and let's just say Flyboy and I had no choice BUT to get creative with our discipline. Again. You see, there's an ugly ball pendant light (Thanks base housing!) that hangs above my desk. I'm sensitive to light and it's aesthetically hideous, so we rarely turn the thing on. Anywho, we told our toddler that the giant white ball is a surveillance camera. In the event he acts up and we need the police to come pick him up, all we need to do is flip the light switch four times and a cop car will be on the way. Because Max is a kid who craves ALL the information, Flyboy flipped his phone camera so our toddler could have a better idea of what it is the police see when they're "watching" us. At one point on Sunday, FB even walked up to the pendant light and started "speaking" to an officer. Whenever the camera is mentioned, Max's eyes get HUGE and it nips the bad behavior in the bud for maybe five minutes. Hey, we'll take whatever victories we can get whenever we can get them!

FEELINGIf you want to feel good about yourself, get a toddler in your life. (Note: I don't ACTUALLY believe that, but for the sake of today's post just roll with it.) For instance, last Friday on the way to the grocery store, I told Max he looked handsome. He was having a particularly good hair day and replied, "Thanks, ma! You are handsome too!" Not gonna lie, I found myself walking around the HEB a little taller. Haha! The *almost* three year old is right. I am a ridiculously handsome mother. Don't forget it, Ash!

THANKFUL FOR: After five days of nonstop rain, I contemplated building an ark to escape the drizzling madness or volunteer to be committed into an insane asylum. Woof! I was reminded this week why Max and I NEEEEEEEED to be outdoors. It's absolutely necessary for our survival together! This whole trapped inside with a stir-crazy toddler and a neurotic dog (Beesly is petrified of thunder and lightning) thing is for the birds. Needless to say, I'm SO ready to get out of Dodge this afternoon and start making our way to Round Top. Since everything in Tejas seems like it's a four-hour driving minimum, we've opted to stay in San Antone this evening and break up the drive a bit. A change of scenery should benefit all of us—preferably sans wet weather

LISTENING TO: I got a manicure last Saturday and I'm not proud of the conversation I had with my nail lady. Nope! We were discussing toddler television options (she's a proud aunt) and we ended up on the topic of Paw Patrol. Apparently her nephew is a BIG fan (like Max, much to my dismay!), so I felt the need to enlighten her about the fact that the kid who does the voice for Daniel Tiger ALSO is the voice behind Rubble. Gulp! The more you know, right?? As I listened to myself excitedly spew out this useless factoid, I went on to admit that my curiosity led to me Googling this a few weeks ago—just for funsies! Now I'm starting to wonder if this is something I should be proud of (mom street-cred level 12 unlocked!) or if it's just another sign I've hit rock bottom??

WATCHING: My mom, sister, and I went in on a gift and bought my godson a 3-D printer for his birthday this year. Because Aubrey lives about an hour away, she delivered the surprise on Tuesday night and I can't stop watching the video she sent us of him opening it. The reaction is so pure and sweet! You guys, this kid is absolute perfection. I swear he's EVERYTHING that's good in this world. Surprising him like this was the real treat because he's wanted a 3-D printer for several years now and he's SO deserving!

EATING: If the Fine fam is ATX bound, then the priority will probably be food-oriented. Since it's the final hurrah in our beloved city, there's been oodles of intense discussions about whether we visit old favorites or dabble with something new. Maybe both??

READING: I wish I could offer you a book or article recommendation, but I've spent most of my free time reading up on Amazon's policy regarding "missing packages that show as delivered." Insert deep sigh here. Because the Capri Blue Volcano Candle (signature Anthro scent) manages to distract me from sticky toddler surfaces and the constant truck clutter, I typically order the item on Amazon to save a few pennies and receive the product quickly. Huzzah! Last week it was finally time to order a replacement and although it shows that it was delivered, I have NO clue where it went. Per Amazon's suggestion, I waited 36 hours to see if it would surface and I looked everywhere around our house. My scented sanctuary is NOWHERE to be found!!  Go on and call me Julia Roberts in Notting Hill because I'm just a girl standing in front of my mailman asking him where in the world is my candle??

LOVING: We technically have a little bar cart in this stand from West Elm, but something tells me it could be repurposed at our next place and I should snag this Round Bar Cart (from the Oh Joy! Collection at Target) and STAT. Has anyone seen it in person?? It gets five-star reviews from all of the online customers that offered feedback, and that never happens! This must be flipping fabulous.

Enough about me. How are you feeling today? What are you up to? Thanks for stopping by!!

LIFE'S LITTLE DETAILS

"THE DETAILS ARE NOT THE DETAILS. THEY MAKE THE DESIGN." — CHARLES EAMES

Happy Wednesday, sweet readers! The next two weeks are shaping up to be rather busy around here. We'll be crossing an item off our Texas bucket list with a day-trip to Round Top on Friday (Woo Hoo!) followed by one last hurrah in Austin this weekend (Hold me!). Then a few days later we'll head East for a week of house hunting in Delaware. Oh, and did I mention that somewhere during that 10-day period Max will turn THREE?? What the what?! How?! You guys, I'm still trying to rack my brain around all of the details. And in the midst of the moving madness, this Fine set of Zillow zombies are trying our best to REMAIN PRESENT, soak up ALL the Swell Rio goodness, but also PLAN AHEAD. The two of us are attempting to find a balance between setting up wellness appointments and oil changes while also making time to create construction-paper rocket ships and Lego towers. It's our first time PCS'ing with a child in tow, so it's hard to tell if we're any good at it yet (Gigglesnort. Is that even possible??), but we're learning A LOT in the process. Things in the blogosphere might get nutty for a bit, but if there's one thing I've learned over the past six years, it's that you guys are always so gracious and encouraging—specially during seasons of change. Thanks for following along. Exciting stuff awaits!

Heads up! I've got several posts planned through October 6th, but the schedule will be somewhat irregular.
Stay tuned for a smattering of colorful details and humorous anecdotes that make all this crazy worth it!

MONDAY MOODBOARD

I've got a fun collaboration in the works (stay tuned!). As a result, I was asked to create a moodboard to present to the designer in an effort to help her create a piece unique to yours truly. Squee! Here's hoping all this quirk and color get the week off to a bright start!

LURVE LOAVE LUFF

Let's get right to it, shall we?
Here's what made me feel all twitterpated, smile contagiously, giggle uncontrollably, etc.

  • The Juliette Oxford // Borrowed from the boys, the Brogue has been one of m' fave shoes since middle school.
  • Telegram Postcards and Pencil Set // Just when I thought Mr. Boddington couldn't create anything more adorable. Et VOILA! I think I need a set of each. Oh, and if you're not following the mister on Insta, you're missing out! Color lovers will be obsessed with his hue-naming series. I dream about entering the contest and winning for my quirky color title.
  • Illustrations by Charlotte Trounce // This week's whimsical muse can be attributed to the lovely Charlotte Trounce.
  • Bonita Drop Earrings // Fridays were made for frills and fringe. This playful POC is shouting HELLO, WEEKEND!!
  • Hold It! Magnetic Keepers // What's better than organization whose aesthetic is both bold and cheeky?! Not much.
  • RMS Lip2Cheek // The ideal rosy red to make you feel put-together, no matter how much the day gets away from you.
  • Striped Smile Sweatshirt // A pint-sized Breton that's hard to beat. Something tells me Max is going to need one.
  • Amour Sweatshirt // This supersoft layer was made with The Love List in mind.  You're welcome for the inspo, J.Crew.
  • Birthday Decisions // We're still a month out from my b-day, but it's never too early for this bag lady to start considering her options. On one hand, it's hard to deny the Mimi Tote by Parker Thatch—such a practical and fun staple . Then again, how fabulous is this sunny Clare V. Foldover Clutch? This could be the prettiest predicament I've faced in awhile!
  • On-The-Dot Clipboard // I don't think I'll ever tire of KSNY's microdot. It's chic, simple, and never goes out of style.
  • Mateo Hardwood Bench // I'm constantly impressed with the fabulous selection at CB2. They're kind of killing it!
  • Pink Large Scarf // Humidity and triple-digits be damned, I simply can't wait to don a scarf this Fall and Winter. Woo Hoo!

Happy Friday, m' dears! Make this weekend count.
