Sisters

Kinship and connection, love and affection.


Sorry for the brief post, but I'm spending these final few hours with my sister and her boyfriend before they depart this evening. It's been a great two weeks, and I'm very grateful to have had their company. It was delightful to have a reason to trek, schlep, tote, dote, laugh, and cook together. The dogs and I are going to miss them dearly! The only thing that keeps me from getting too emotional is that I know I'll see her again in a few weeks when we reunite with our parents. Dizzy With Delight

Did you enjoy your holiday weekend? I sure did, but I can't believe how the time has flown by. I feel very blessed to have had the company of my sister and her boyfriend these past two weeks. They've kept me busy, which has kept my mind off of Flyboy as much as possible. Not that I don't love to think about him, but it made being separated a lot easier. I definitely had my weaker moments, but I guess that's to be expected. Overall, this first holiday apart was a great success, mostly because of my visitors. Unfortunately, they leave this Wednesday, so we only have a few more days left together. I know I promised creative Christmas-related posts last week, but they may have to wait until later this week. Stay tuned. Until then, take a look at what we've been up to according to Instagram...   












With excessive eating, glittery gold nail polish, and a whopping big dose of Vitamin D, I think it's safe to say we've had a grand time! I'd be happy to stick my toes in the sand with this duo any day. I'll be sad to see them leave, but excited to prepare for my trip to the Mainland to visit my parents in December. I love having something to look forward to!

Words To Live By



Happy Friday! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Are you sick of leftovers yet? Ha ha! Unfortunately, our fridge is chock full of food, and there are only three of us to chip away at what's left. We plan on spending the weekend outdoors -- swimming, hiking, etc. Our Turkey Day spread was pretty gluttonous for such a small group of people. That's how it's supposed to be, right? It looks like we'll have to hike Koko Head a few times in order to make up for the atrocious, but blissful, amount we've been eating. What are your weekend plans? Will you be partaking in any Black Friday madness? I usually try to steer clear from the shopping insanity. I prefer Cyber Monday, where I can sit in my pajamas and shop from home. Cue the Christmas tunes (insert She & Him holiday album), it's time for me to start drafting my list of presents to purchase. Oh, what fun!

Now, while I get out my notepad and paper to start brainstorming gift ideas, I'll leave you with a delightful quote and a few charming images...

Jive Turkey


Tomorrow's the big day! Are you pumped? Woo hoo! Stressed? No way! Have you prepped? Our turkey is brining in a large cooler, and our pie has been baked. The sweet scent of cinnamon, apples, and salted caramel fill the air. Is it time to eat yet? The residents and guests of Lil' Puna are ready to stuff ourselves into a food-induced coma. What about you? What are you most excited about this Thanksgiving? Do you have any fun traditions?
