Weekly Round Up

Just a few things that made me smile this week.

I love when a new book falls into your lap at the perfect time.

Adding a new word to the old vocabulary.

To bamboozle; deceive.
Thank you Vanity Fair for introducing me to another new word.
While the definition isn't all that pretty, you must admit, it's fun to say.

A retro glam image.
coco+kelley reminded me that a day at the beach can be fabulous,
even if the sand does get everywhere!
Too bad I don't look like this! It's a state of mind, right?

The prospects of a great new TV show!
We saw another trailer for Fox's New Girl last night, and all I have to say is "Hey, sailor!"
BIG BELLY LAUGHS. She's as cute as a bug's ear.
I can't even contain my excitement. I already know it's my new fave! I can't wait.
Finally there's  a TV show that embraces the awkwardly endearing folk out there!
And Hagerty, if you're reading this, consider the clip a gift. You deserve it!
I'm honestly just happy to have met someone who shares a common love for Zooey Deschanel.

A successful recipe or two.
Featured eat(s) of the week:
The following recipes deserve an honorable mention from our Fine kitchen.
This Raspberry & Orange Cake turned out fantastic!
My two cents: Easy on the powdered sugar, Giada. It was a little sweet, but still divine!
Now can I buy that cake stand I'm coveting?
A note to Kim Dee: I failed to show up at the bowling alley with my cake creation and carrying case. No friends for you!

We'll definitely be making these burgers again!
The Chicken Burgers with Sundried Tomato Aioli knocked our socks off. It was a perfect light summer meal. I added a little fresh rosemary to the ground chicken
to give the meat a bit more flavor.

A summer brew.
What's a summer meal without a frosty beverage?
The flyboy brought us home a growler from the Moose's Tooth.
I believe we tried the Klondike Golden. Not too shabby for Sarah Palin Country!

Stumbling upon a great website
with an ingenious idea...

How about that sassy water bowl?

Doodle-licious!

And finally, a catchy earworm.
For one reason or another, I've had the country hits station playing
on Pandora a lot this past week.
The country station here is lacking, so we get our fair share of Gaga and dated alternative rock.
And for those of you who might worry, I still get my thug on
regularly when I spin in the mornings. No need to fret.
Anywho, back to my hillbilly bone.
I can't seem to get enough of Rodney Atkins' "Take a Back Road."

Respect.
It's time for me to put a little gravel in my travel.
Have a fabulous weekend!
