Life's Little Details

"The details are not the details. They make the design." -- Charles Eames
Happy Monday, friends! I woke up this morning, and I felt more blessed than ever. I've been gifted with 27 years of love, experiences, and memories. While a pair of snazzy polka dot flats are quite lovely, this charmed life is the greatest gift of all. I'm not exactly sure what I did to deserve such blessings, but I grow more grateful with each day. Mondays are typically my day to GSD or "Get Stuff Done", but instead of running errands and tackling the ol' to-do list, I'll take some time to reflect and thank God for all of the goodness that I've been given. Life is swell, isn't it?

As I type this very post, Tripp sits at my feet; he slobbers and sighs. I guess this is his subtle reminder that I'm being an egomaniac. Oops, I forgot to mention that someone else is celebrating a birthday today at Lil' Puna. Happy Birthday, Tripp! He turns nine today, and he's as lively as ever! I wish you could see the way he sprightly climbs our hill. Gosh, I love this dog! When we considered adopting him almost four years ago, it was the moment I saw his birth date listed on the AKC paperwork that I knew it was meant to be. We loaded him in the truck, and I promised him a lifetime of milk bones, tennis balls, and a celebratory scoop of ice cream on his birthday. I'm proud to say that I've upheld my end of the bargain. Please pardon the following corny statement: Tripp, you're Golden!

While Tripp and I bask in all the birthday pomp and circumstance, take a gander at some of my favorite moments from the past few weeks -- the details that make this life a whole lot sweeter.

Pineapple & Cilantro Candle & J.Crew's Style Guide // I'm serious about getting stuff done. // Tripp's birthday hat, complete with
pom poms and a frilly trim. // Beesly laid on the fireplace. She realized the granite was nice and cool. Regal and adorable, isn't she?
Putting my "pins" to action. Hello, Mod Podge! // Tripp was intrigued by the balloons needed for paper mache. //
Taking time for correspondence. // An afternoon with Jane Austen's Emma. Of course, I ended up falling asleep. Oops!
Smitten with these colorful fall blooms. // A care package for my godson. I think I may have been more excited to put it together! // Yard work and C-17 spotting. I guess you could say I get distracted easily. // The Vee-Dubb gets some much-needed TLC.
Neon + Gingham = Color me obsessed! // I finally tried Moroccan Oil, and it's a-mazing! // When I saw this sweater on sale, I squealed. "Did we just become best friends?" // Mixing patterns and color; a happy and hearty ensemble. I wish I could wear this everyday!
Trips to the beach are better with someone by your side. // A sign someone put up in our neighborhood; it made me smile. // Tripp sporting his party hat. We tricked him into staring at the camera with a tennis ball. // Flyboy surprised me by baking my birthday cake.
Toodles,
ANF
