That girl in the cardigan

A post regarding layers is the last thing most of us want to discuss during these warm summer months. However, last night it got chilly enough for me to choose from my bevy of cardis. Putting one on for the first time in a few months was an absolute treat! I suddenly felt happiness come over me -- an extra pep to my step! Something like this...

SJP in Chanel
As I sat on my couch, smitten as ever with my sweater sporting self, I got to thinking about one of my favorite celebrity quotes from John Krasinski. He discussed what he looks for in a girl in the August 2010 issue of Glamour. I'm forever endeared to Jim Halpert after reading this...
"It's all about, do you have that 'girl in a cardigan' in you. You gotta have that."
Ugh, his words are swoon-worthy. I think it would be safe to say that his main squeeze, Emily Blunt, fits the bill -- she's classically cardi!

Here are a few of my favorite cardi combos:

Run some errands.

Dinner & a movie.

An afternoon spent antiquing.

A Friday bonfire with great friends.

And finally, a few of my favorite girls in cardigans:
Grace Kelly

Mrs. O

Jenna Lyons

Reese Witherspoon

Jackie O

Kate Spade

Zooey Deschanel

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge

In case you're wondering, here's my favorite guy in a cardigan:
Brad Goreski

Just for kicks and giggles...
"No, it's a cardigan, but thanks for noticing!"
Name the movie and character that said it.

JOFU: You get an A+!!

kimdee: You're such a cardi girl and you will be BFF with Kate. I know it!

bren: You know I had to pull that amazing photo for that very reason! The instant I saw it, I fell in love and ripped it out. It was a magnificent spread. As I was writing the post, I had check the Glamour website to snag it:) It was the first image to come to mind. Also, I bragged about you today at the Aveda Salon. Every once in awhile I love to tell people that my friend works at Glamour. I'm sorry, they just handed me the mag and I had to tell them!
