The Week Wrapped Up in a Bow

Here's what made me feel all twitterpated, smile contagiously, giggle uncontrollably, etc.

ask & receive
The number of submissions for Wednesday's "What's in the Bag?" post was outstanding. You know how to make this girl feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I had so much fun! Seeing everyone's submissions made me miss a lot of you and want to get to know some of you better. Thanks for playing along!

chalk markers & a great quote
I think I'll try to recreate this in my living room. Or is it too cheese ball considering our location?

another addition to the blogroll
tulips & flight suits:
It's nice to know there's someone else out there with so much in common.

matchbook: the july issue
What strikes your fancy in the July issue?

discovering pretty tape at a local store

holla.
We got an honorable mention from blackbird letterpress.
Woot woot!

let me explain.
We moved into our house 63 days ago (but who's counting?). We live on a hill, so we have a beautiful view (most days). The caveat: our neighbor down the way enjoys sunbathing on his roof... in a banana hammock.
It's happened twice now (not bad for two months). The first time I witnessed it alongside my father-in-law.
Can somebody say aw-kward!
Rooftop Confessions: Toasty buns mean one thing around here -- it must be 88 degrees and sunny. No mauka showers;)

a nice blend
I used my blender more this past week than I have since we bought it after our wedding in 2008.
I kind of forgot you could use it for more than just margaritas.
Tasty concoctions include: Smitten Kitchen's Pea Pesto, vinaigrette for a Grilled Chicken & Strawberry Spinach Salad, and my so-so attempt at a Jamba Juice creation, a Breakfast Berry Smoothie.

she ain't heavy, she's my berner.
A little puppy love from my trusty companion.
She's always ready to help water the plants, check the mail, sleep at my feet, etc.

learning flyboy will be home to celebrate the holiday weekend
Translation: Time to make a grocery list. SCORE!!

If this doesn't say Independence Day, I don't know what does.

Happy 4th of July!
Cheers

Oh, and in case you were wondering, the bow mentioned in the title would obviously be a quality piece of grosgrain ribbon (stripes preferred).
