SHOP SPOTLIGHT

ERIN FLETT : LINEN PILLOWS AND DECORATIVE HOME GOODS MADE IN MAINE

A few months after Max was born, I purchased a hand-printed pillow (this one) from Erin Flett and let's just say it didn't disappoint. Obsessed with the charm and quality of her designs, I went on to send a few totes and dish towels to friends as gifts. In my opinion, they're a slam dunk when you're not entirely sure what to get someone you adore. From time to time, I like to check in on Erin's shop and snoop at her Instagram often to see if she's added any new treasures to the mix. Never one to let me down, I noticed Erin's selection of goodies has only expanded, which makes me giddy just thinking about all the gifting (and treat yo self—Ha!) possibilities. As if the canvas lunch boxes, patterned clutches, and whimsical drinking glasses aren't enough, the throw pillow hoarder in me can't stop gushing over the recent mix of velvet WITH a special silk-screened trim (think spots and stripes forever).

HERE ARE MY FAVORITES...

SHOP SPOTLIGHT

In the event you're looking to treat yourself or someone you adore, I felt it was my official blogging duty to share this amazing Etsy shop with you all. How fabulous is this French-inspired skincare line?! The packaging alone has me feeling weak in the knees, but the product itself gets rave reviews. Score! After perusing the shop's goodies, I was tempted to add one of everything to my Favorites (AKA my pretend shopping cart), but I managed to pare my selection down to these four favorites. Now let's see how long it takes before I pull the trigger and purchase at least one of these pamper-iffic pretties...

French Girl Favorites:

Happy Wednesday, m' dears! Consider this permission to TREAT YO SELF!

LET'S TAKE FIVE

Because on Wednesdays you like to stop by One Fine Day for a colorful pick-me-up...
  1. Karma Baby Onesie via Strawberry Moth // I'm fairly certain it's time to add this onesie to Max's growing collection. Whether we're running errands or strolling the neighborhood, I've found this twenty-pound chunk of love is a goodwill ambassador to all he meets. Swell Rio curmudgeons, you've been warned—Max is coming for you and he WILL make you smile.
  2. Indoor/Outdoor Pillows via Pencil Shavings Studio // This isn't the first (or last) time I've professed my love for Rachel's online shop, Pencil Shavings Studio. On a mission to banish beige, she added these adorable indoor/outdoor throw pillows and I couldn't be more thrilled. I truly love the idea of outdoor living and entertaining, but I've found it's difficult to find pieces to fit my aesthetic that don't break the bank. Better yet, the selection of prints and colors can be customized to suit your style!
  3. Raffia Lamp with Textile Cable via lacasadecoto // Choosing just one item to share from this vender was difficult. Can we also take a moment to discuss all that's perfect about this pom-pom wool pillow? You had me at hot pink stripes, my friend!
  4. Life is Tough Art Hoop via Little Low // A stationery favorite based out of Austin, Texas—need I say more?! I often browse Little Low's Etsy shop to stay on top of all the latest and greatest designs created by Caitlin McClain. I'm currently smitten with these cute art hoops. They would be a fabulous gift for family and friends, or the perfection addition to any gallery wall!
  5. Recycled Neon Lips via Ann Howell Art // About two weeks ago, I heard about Ann's work and immediately pinned it to share in an upcoming post. Believe me, it's been hard to keep this one under wraps! From handprinted textiles and framed works (like the b-e-a-utiful one featured today), what's not to love about Howell's "just put some paint and glitter on it" mentality?

If you're not grinning over these goodies, well then, I can't help you.

ETSY: TAKE FIVE TUESDAY

Read my lips—there will be NO regrETSY purchases on my watch. Trust me.
Instead, how about five shops that will make you push that little heart button with utter delight:

  • BRIGHT JULY // Add spice to any space with Caitlin's gorgeous selection of punchy throw pillows. How adorable is the appliqué? With a selection this fabulous, there's something stylish for everyone.
  • PARROTT DESIGN STUDIO // Sarah has the happiest assortment of hand-printed paper goods on Etsy. That's a fact! I'm particularly obsessed with this simple Mini Heart Notebook. It would the perfect size to keep handy in my trusty tote.
  • SCOUT AND LILLY // After purchasing this pennant as a Christmas gift for Flyboy, I got hooked on Kathleen's simple accessories and home decor. The colors in this geometric and sunset-hued silkscreen print are fan-flipping-tastic!
  • MOGLEA // It's not the first time I've expressed my love for Meg Gleason's lovely letterpress goods. While I adore all of her snazzy note cards and notepads, I think it would be really fun to have one of her custom return address stamps. I know we move a lot, but I think I could get some good use out of it until it's time to pack up again.
  • WREN AND RUMOR // This past Christmas, we received this striped swaddle blanket from my aunt and uncle. Max is a big fan of the black-and-white print. I can't help but be smitten with the quality. It washes up like a dream and the cute aesthetic is easy on the eyes. If I saw this Lime Stripe Sweater Blanket sooner, I probably would have planned the nursery around it. The happy hue makes my heart burst with joy.

I've gone absolutely BONKERS for these amazing handwoven and fluffy wall hangings created by artist, Judit Just! How fabulous is her shop?! Go on and take a look. You can thank me later for today's burst of color and inspiration. Then again, that's what I'm here for...

ETSY: TAKE FIVE TUESDAY

Look, I'm not saying you should treat yo self. I'm just doing my part to help you avoid any purchases that might turn out to be an Etsy regretsy, and we wouldn't want that. So go on and push that little heart button. You know you want to...
  1. White Knotted Sleeper by childHOODS // Not only is it adorable, it's functional too! You can bet I'll be ordering one of these to add to Max's collection. The fact that it color coordinates with his nursery is one of those details that makes my heart sing.
  2. Congrats Card by My Dear Fellow Co. // This shop was one of those recent discoveries that made my eyes light up with excitement. The best part? The paper goods company was founded by a husband and wife duo based out of Dallas, TX. Hey, y'all! Their collection is so cute, I'd be proud to add any of their cards to my stationery wardrobe.
  3. Monty the Sleepy Fox by Sara Carr // When my mom and I discuss the nursery, we've decided adding one of these cuddly creatures is a necessity. I just can't decide between the fox or the slug. Thoughts? Preferences? I could use some assistance.
  4. Handmade Bead Necklace by Not Tuesday // Much like the necklace I featured in yesterday's post, this one is vibrant and simple. Lately I've been gravitating toward easy pieces with a subtle hint of flair. Charming isn't it?!
  5. Bossy Ceramic Mug by Miss Poppy Design // This is just the sort of coffee cup you'd expect the eldest sibling to love, right??

ETSY: TAKE FIVE TUESDAY

I like to give myself fancy titles. I think it has something to do with being first born and assertive—yep, that's just my subtle way of justifying bossy behavior. I'll go ahead and own it. Anywho, as a self-appointed curator of all things swell and snazzy, I don't take this role lightly. Naturally, I felt the need to up my game a bit when we found out we were expecting. Clearly I know how to treat m' self (nailed it!), but now I have a mission to treat a tiny little tot. These days, I bookmark all sorts of cuteness in miniature form like it's my job. When I'm not scouting finds on Pinterest, I'm probably hanging out on Etsy and clicking that little heart button. This week, I thought I'd share five of my favorite shops that cater to the tiniest of overlords.
  1. Mélissa Hévey Quilts // The loveliest selection of handmade baby bedding. I'm partial to the polka dots and stripes.
  2. Sara Carr // Whimsical toys and accessories are my favorite. Sara's woolly world is just too stinkin' adorable.
  3. Paul & Paula // This sweet little tee is SO happening, my friends! Eek, and these baby leggings. Somebody stop the madness.
  4. Jumping Jack // I'm a sucker for a baby in a headband. The pink-and-white stripe is absolute perfection. Maybe next time...
  5. The Coral Pear // How about a pair of baby moccasins for your little one? The color selection is exquisite. Oh, and bows!

NO REGRETSY!

Five Etsy treasures that made me push that little heart button...
  1. SQUARE NOTEPAD via PENCIL SHAVINGS STUDIO // I don't think there's an item in Rachel's shop that I don't adore.
  2. SUEDE SCALLOPED BALLET FLATS via ELE HANDMADE // How sweet are these?! Love the color selection!
  3. LOVE WEEKEND BAG via PHILOSOPHIE VIA SOPHIE // This could make an adorable Valentine's Day gift (hint, hint).
  4. NAUTICAL STRIPES DOG COLLAR via CHARLIE BE GOOD // Tripp needs a new accessory for spring. Stripes are perfect!
  5. RING PLATE WITH RED HEARTS via ROSS LAB // A dainty dish to store earrings or rings.

Etsy: Take Five Tuesday

When you kick off the blog week with something snazzy like a giveaway, it's really quite hard to top that level of excitement. I'm just saying... But in an effort to keep you entertained until the big winners are revealed on Friday, I thought it was time to share some of my latest and greatest finds. After all, it's been awhile since we've gone all Etsy on the blog. I have a feeling you'll adore at least one of these shops, and if you're like me, you'll become a quick fan of all five. What can I say? When I fall for something wonderful, I fall hard. You just know when you're smitten.
  1. Custom Pet Portraits by dimdi // When I saw this West Highland Terrier, I felt all warm and fuzzy inside. It reminds me of our family dog, Schatz. She's a sweet and spunky one!
  2. Canvas and Gold Baby Shoes by ajalor // How dear are these little pink shoes? They would make the perfect gift for a friend who's expecting or bookmark worthy for your future fashion-forward child.
  3. Vintage Eames Arm Chair by Cast + Crew // I never thought I was the kind of person who collected "stuff" — well, with the exception of stationery, shoes, and sweaters. A collector sounds kind of boring and borderline hoarder-ish, so maybe we could just refer to it as curator of fine goods? Much better! If there was something I'd amass besides the items already noted, it would have to be Eames chairs. After my parents bought me my first rocker for my 25th birthday, I've become hooked. Of course, I was instantly delighted when I stumbled upon this sunny seat. It's pretty spectacular! And can you EVER have too much seating?
  4. Decorative Pillow Cover by PopOColor // Hands down, one of the BEST Etsy resources for amazing throw pillows! Besides the great name, the prices are reasonable and the selection is superb.
  5. Peony Piñata by papel SF // Oh. My. Word. I just died and went to heaven. This is the mother of all piñatas.

Have you stumbled upon any like it, love it, gotta have it, Etsy treasures lately?

Etsy: Take Five Tuesday

This past Saturday evening, I found myself looking for ways to pass the time. You see, I had just painted my toes the snazziest shade of hot pink (Essie Fiesta), and I wanted to ensure I didn't do anything rammy that would smudge my pretty paint job — as I always manage to do! I hit an all-time low when I realized I'd been giving myself a pedicure to the terrible sounds of Teen Mom 2 in the background. It was awful! How did I forget the remote? When did I set it down across the room on the kitchen table? I looked around to find an obstacle course of scattered dog toys and two sleeping pups sprawled across the living room floor. I thought about tiptoeing around them to fetch the remote, but I knew if I woke Tripp or Beesly, they'd inevitably step on my toes with their big paws. Honestly, it happens EVERY time! I was in panic mode; it was a test of willpower. How long would I have to sit there to let my topcoat dry completely? I was fidgety and looked around for entertainment options. Ah-ha! The iPad was within arm's distance. Why did it take me so long to think of this? Naturally, I ended up on Etsy and spent approximately 30 minutes scouting out new vendors and revisiting old favorites. Since my Etsy sesh proved to be successful, I felt inclined to share five vendors I think you'll love. In fact, I'm so confident in this round-up, I bet you end up pushing that little heart icon at least once. It's just THAT good!
  1. Grounded on the Daily: I'm a HUGE fan of Nicole Miyuki's Tumblr site, so I was ecstatic to find out there was an Etsy shop that sells prints with some of the Grounded's more popular quotes. This hand-screenprinted quote has got to be my favorite! Lovely, wouldn't you say?
  2. In Haus Press: I dream about ordering some of their personalized calling cards. For now, I'll have to settle for these cute cocktail party invitations. Of course, you can expect an invite!
  3. Roxy Marj: I'm a sucker for whimsical designs and colorful patterns. This sunglasses pouch is perfect!
  4. Arianutte: My mom deserves credit for this fabulous find. While it might be a bow tie intended for gentlemen, I'm certain I could find some use for it. The lime leather option is beckoning.
  5. Lackluster Co.: This has got to be one of the BEST shops for industrial and vintage decor. Seriously. How charming is this 1940s amusement park ride car from Coney Island? The antique metal letters and quirky selection of cardboard and wooden signs are equally adorable.

Etsy: Take Five Tuesday

It's been awhile since we've talked Etsy around here, so I've compiled a list of five vendors I think you'll love. In fact, I'm so confident in this round-up, I bet you end up pushing that little heart icon at least once. It's just THAT good!
  1. Pencil Shavings Studio: The creative director and founder, Rachel Shingleton, is a self-proclaimed color lover. Ugh, be still my heart. To say that I'm smitten with her blog and Etsy shop would be an understatement. I think my adoration has something to do with our mutual love of stripes as well.
  2. Kristina Marie: Two words — confetti and garland! In conjunction with my beloved pom-poms and go-to glitter, these two items add an instant snazzy factor to anything that's dull in life.
  3. 1canoe2 Letterpress: This is one of those shops that makes me feel proud. It's not that I had anything to do with it (I wish!), but the company hails from my favorite college town, Columbia, Missouri. While I was studying at Mizzou, I was excited to see some of their prints featured in local shops. Over the years, the business has boomed and their sweet artwork and notecards have been featured on blogs and sold in shops nationwide (even at Anthropologie!).
  4.  Illustrations by Aimee: I recently stumbled upon this particular watercolor while browsing through the April issue of Matchbook Magazine. Naturally, I stopped what I was doing and hovered my mouse over the image. Much to my delight, I was instantly directed to this amazing illustration.
  5. Haven Natural Home Goods: I must confess that I'm a sucker for cleaning products with cute packaging. Why wouldn't you use products that brighten boring chores?

Take Five Tuesday

Some of my latest and greatest scouted selections on Etsy.
Note: They're so cute, it will take everything inside you NOT to push that little heart button.
  1. Happy Valentine's Day Notecard Set by Quill & Fox—This may just be the valentine I send out this year!
  2. Handmade Stamps by Creatiate—Their designs are oodles of fun. I'm particularly smitten with the arrows and the scalloped monogram.
  3. Heart Bowls by Ross Lab—According to my latest Etsy faves, love is in the air. These whimsical ceramic bowls are no exception.
  4. Reclaimed Apothecary Matchstick Bottle by Jensa—I wouldn't mind a bottle of these. It's both functional and aesthetically pleasing!
  5. Navy Ric Rac Pillow Cover by Arianna Bella—While Lil' Puna has its perks (and problems), I dream about the day we update some of our throw pillows. I love the ones we have, but they've faded terribly from the intense sunlight. I could see this one propped on the couch quite nicely!

What about you? Any new vendors or Etsy favorites that I should know about?

P.S. Thanks for your patience as I try to figure out my Wacom tablet. I set out to put together a great blog post and before I know it, I've doodled the day away. This week, I'm hoping to tweak the blog design a bit and work to streamline my font choices for the sake of continuity. Bear with me! If you have an input, feel free to share.

Etsy Treasures

It's been awhile since we've talked Etsy around here. My bad!
I hope you enjoy some of my latest and greatest finds -- treasures that triggered me to push that little heart button!
  1. "Hello, my name is..." -- These name tags by Sparrow Nest Script give the traditional sticker a fun and whimsical twist. You can sign me up for any shindig if I get to wear one of these!
  2. Endless Bummer -- I'm rather smitten with this sturdy and simple tote by Field Guided. I think the JUMBO size bag would be great for beach towels!
  3. Bumble Bee Bobbi Pins -- An adorably dainty detail!
  4. The Sweater Clock Hand -- Words can't describe how much I love this handcrafted piece by Sandra Eterovic.
  5. Gold Polka Dot Tote -- This courier by Matine is a need, right? As you may have already guessed, it was love at first sight. Oh, and they make it in a clutch form as well! I die.
  6. Red Leaf -- Why wouldn't I love a print that includes my favorite vibrant color combo of red and pink?
  7. Green Label Masking Tape -- This is like Washi heaven. My other go-to color combo would have to be chartreuse and white, and this DEFINITELY takes the cake!
Have you spotted and hearted anything on Etsy recently? Smitten with a new shop or vendor?
Remember the Etsy etiquette around here... I'll show you mine, if you show me yours!
