If all goes as planned, Flyboy should return tonight. Yippee! After a two-week trip stateside, he'll have a few days of leave to relax and recuperate. I'm so excited! And since I haven't seen him in awhile, I took a few days off to ensure we get some quality time together. We're calling it our "staycation." I know what you're thinking, isn't life in Hawaii just one BIG vacation? It's pretty great, but better when you get to share it with someone special. In typical Type-A fashion, we do have a few items on our to-do list; however, the majority of this "staycation" will be spent at the beach. Whenever he's away, my diet consists of soup, salad, and Hot Pockets (healthy, I'm aware), so I'm elated to go grocery shopping and try out a few new recipes as well. Stay tuned for more details. If I try anything that's absolutely amazeballs, I'll be sure to share it with you. What do you have cookin' this weekend? I'm talking plans or recipes. Anything terribly exciting? Do tell. In the meantime, here's my weekend at a glance...
Word. / Tangelo Bib
While Flyboy catches up on "boy" TV and studies, I plan on pinning pretty things and clever words.
Head Up Band / Osman Chair
I'll consider recreating this fabulous piece of head gear, and we'll celebrate one year at Lil' Puna!
The Essentials: Sun / Sea Bag / Soludos / SPF
As I mentioned earlier, we'll spend a day or two by the sea together. My idea of absolute bliss.
The Five-Year Engagement / "The Only Chocolate Chip Cookie..."
I think I'll tickle my funny bone and satisfy my sweet tooth. Hey, it's the weekend!
Enough about me.
Go on and have a blast this weekend! You deserve it.

P.S. A few fun ideas to kick off your weekend: Download this desktop wallpaper, DVR the show Best Friends Forever (hilarious!), make origami bows, and create your own succulent terrarium.
I love Best Friends Forever! It is so funny. Hope you enjoy all of your time with Flyboy! I'm hoping to make cole slaw and cinnamon bread this weekend (weird combo i know). You should totally try these cookies they are the best http://notwithoutsalt.com/2009/01/28/the-last-chocolate-chip-cookie/ReplyDelete
Ahh, Best Friends Forever! LOVE! I'm tackling my 10 pounds of strawberries and finishing up going through the rest of the house for our upcoming community wide garage sale. Hope you have a great weekend!ReplyDelete
OMG, I'm so excited to hear you guys watch BFF as well. I stumbled upon it on last week, and I've caught myself snorting at least once in every episode. It's so good!ReplyDelete
Mary Kate, I will definitely have to try that Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. I don't know why, but I'll try just about every CCC recipe that I find in an effort to perfect the cookie.
Court, I miss all the fresh produce in Texas. I would LOVE to say I had 10 lbs. of strawberries to devour. Ha ha!
Enjoy your weekend!!!
Ashley, I am the same way about CCC recipes and that one is pretty close to being perfect. One time I tried like 3 different recipes in one night to get a perfect cookie.ReplyDelete
I've been watching that show, too. :) I'll reply to your e-mail in the next few days...for reals!ReplyDelete
