Guest Post: Annie's Organization

Hi there, One Fine Day-ers! I'm so delighted to be posting for Mademoiselle Fine, who personally requested some guidance in the makeup organization department. She certainly isn't alone, as I know many of you bitties out there similarly struggle with keeping your beautifiers neat. Here are some ideas straight out of the Live Simply playbook.

It may sound like a bit of a cop out, but the truth is that there are so many fabulous organizers specifically meant to keep your makeup in order that it's silly not to take advantage of them. I bought this acrylic makeup organizer to house the majority of my brushes, compacts and such months ago, and have never looked back. If you have a drawer rather than countertop space to work with, you can try the flattened version of this acrylic makeup organizer tray.
I don't know about you all, but I tend to go through lip product phases, when I'm only drawn to certain colors, and then wear those until the point that I'm so sick of them I can barely look at the tubes, let alone put them on  my lips. I keep those select few glosses and sticks out at the ready by using this lipstick organizer. But really any container that allows them to stand up will do.
The same scan be said for brushes; a monogrammed mug, lovely canisters, mason jars, et al. can easily become a brush holder or a catchall for your collection of lip glosses and lipsticks.
Most importantly, when it comes to makeup is to perpetually and ruthlessly edit your collection. Anything old, cracked, or that doesn't suit you anymore should be tossed, leaving you with just your makeup mainstays to accommodate.

I hope that was helpful, and that I've inspired you to get your own makeup in order. Many blown kisses and thanks to Ashley for having me. Do feel free to stop by www.livesimplybyannie.com for more organizing pointers.
