And so it begins...

The Substitute Teaching Course
I'm going to show up this evening and strive to relax and remain positive.
I'm going to find humor in the scenario, even if I really want to cry.
I'm going to smile until it's contagious (and be reminded of my mom as I grin from ear to ear).
I will probably talk too fast and get all awkward and red out of sheer nervousness.
That's okay!
I hate situations that put me outside of my comfort zone, but it's time for me to get a little push.
I'm going to embrace this next journey and pray that it leads me to something great.
When I'm nervous about something, I organize to feel at ease -- that's so very Rain Man of me.
For some reason, I feel like I can take on anything if given a fresh Moleskine or pen.
Throw on a money shirt, some bangles and an Emerson flower pin, and suddenly I'm a bit more relaxed.

Here's my survival kit for tonight's first class...
J.Crew Jelly Sandals, Bangles, Money Shirt*, Emerson Poppy, Striped Tote
A money shirt is a term coined by moi. It's any button-down shirt with a Peter Pan collar, puff sleeves, ruffles, etc.
There's something about a money shirt that instantly gives me a spark of confidence.

Checkbook, Pen, Highlighter, Registration Slip, Hand Lotion, Lip Balm, Gum, Moleskine, Clif Bar, Textbook

Wish me luck!
I'll be back tomorrow with a sunnier post. I promise. I just need to get these jitters out of the way first!
Happy Monday, my lovelies!

  3. Perfect combination! A moleskin & pen do the same for me too! I hope it's not as awful as your mind may think and you meet someone fun in class. Good luck! You'll be fabulous! :)
