List o' Lovely

a little spark of kindness can put a colossal burst of sunshine into someone's day...

I'm always in awe of the comments and encouragement I receive on a daily basis from One Fine Day followers. Now I know the majority of my readers are family members, so that probably doesn't count, but I want you all to know how much your kind words and feedback mean to me. Call me a daredevil, but starting a blog was a bit of a risk for me -- I felt like I was putting a lot on the line! How silly?! Writing can make you feel a bit vulnerable, and I hate the feeling of being judged. I mean, what if I use too many exclamation points or  use a word incorrectly? Gawd forbid! Yes, I lose sleep over these sorts of things. I love the proper use of a semicolon just as much as the next grammar girl, but I don't claim to be perfect at it. Thankfully, you've proven me wrong -- I've received nothing but LOVE. You don't even judge me for overusing commas! I'm getting a little verklempt. You've given me confidence, and you make me eager to post daily. I'm not sure how I can ever thank each and every one of you for all of the warm and fuzzies you've sent my way in the past few months. It's meant the world to me, seriously. Email me your mailing address, and I've got a Thank-You note with your name on it! In the meantime, here are a few fabulous finds I wanted to share with you.

It's time for me to throw a splash of loveliness your direction.
Obsession: Teddy Bear Sunflowers
I love the ruffles & imperfection.

A weekly planner with a cause
Sarah Pinto's youngest son was born with a heart defect. She says they take each day as it comes and feel blessed to have been surrounded by amazing doctors and nurses. As a result, a portion of the proceeds go to the Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.
Read more about Sarah Pinto's products here.
I love them all (especially the first 3 options)! The green & pink planner could pass for Beesly or Tripp's silhouette.
I currently have a Sarah Pinto 2011 planner and some of her notebooks.
Who doesn't love a bright and delightful way to stay organized?

  1. I am so SO excited about Pioneer Woman's new show! My mom and I love her and last Thanksgiving we cooked her mac&cheese, her apple dumplings and my mom used her tutorial on how to cook at turkey. She makes her recipes so easy and they are so delicious!

Love everything in this post Ashley! I'm glad you blog everyday, I see your posts in my Google Reader and get excited! I know I've told you that before but I have to say it again! Keep it up!

  2. The Adam Fam looooves P-Dub! Mike is convinced she is trying to kill Marlboro Man with butter, haha. I bought Charlie her "Charlie the Ranch Dog" book, and he just can't read it enough :)We use her recipes a lot, but one I can always get my boys to eat is the Sour Cream Noodle Bake.

And I just love everything about this post, including the clip from The Proposal. Makes me giggle every time! Miss you, Ashley!!

  3. Staley: I love that you and your mom adore the Pioneer Woman so much:) I miss cooking with my mom! Those are the best times in the kitchen. Also, thanks for the constant encouragement! You're a sweetheart:)

Amy: Oh man, I want to get my godson "Charlie the Ranch Dog." I think he'd love it! I have it on my Amazon list:) The amount of butter she uses is borderline Paula Deen, but it's what makes food taste GREAT!! I haven't tried the Sour Cream Noodle Bake yet. I'll have to give it a shot:) I'm glad you enjoyed The Proposal clip. It gets me every time!!! I miss you more. Seriously:) I would love to get to join you for drinks and a movie night one day.

  4. Thanks so much for posting about this, I had NO idea she was getting her own show (totally out of the loop with moving). My favorite meal, comfort food wise, is her Chili Con Queso. I try not to make it but maybe once every 6-8 months because it has a whole brick of Velveeta in it, but it is my absolute favorite thing to make.

  5. Yes, she is borderline Paula, but man it's good stuff. Like her version of cinnamon toast, where you slather the butter/sugar/cinnamon/vanilla mixture on the bread and put it under the broiler? Mercy.

You need to get two copies of "Charlie the Ranch Dog", so you can keep one. It's seriously cute.

Oh we'll have a movie and drinks night sometime, don't you worry. I just need to convince Mike that a long flight to Hawaii is a wonderful idea :)

  6. Oh man! You ladies are killing me. I'm hungry, and I just ate breakfast in the last hour. Ha ha! Cinnamon Toast and Queso -- those are two of my faves!!! If I ever win the lottery, I'm flying all of you guys to Hawaii and we can have a giant P-Dub Cooking Partay:)
